accumulated at a central location unless the City grants an excep- <br />tion to this requirement and therein designates the property so ex- <br />cepted. Notice of such sale shall be given By publication at least <br />once in a newspaper of 8eneral circulation, printed, published end <br />circulated in the City of Santa Aha and by sending written notice <br />to all persons who had requested notice and to all persons suggest- <br />ed by Department Heads as prospective bidders, such notices to be <br />published and mailed at least ten days prier to the date of sale. <br />All such sales shall be at public auction and the City Council shall <br />designate the person to conduct the auction and the person to act as <br />Clerk, to make a record of bids and payments during said auction. <br />All sales shall be for cash and the purchase price shall be paid <br />forthwith upon a sale being declared by the auctioneer. <br /> <br /> Section ~: items of scrap, metal, paper, wood, etc., that <br />have no value for the purpose for which they were originally de- <br />sig~ed but are useful only as salvage or scrap, may be sold with <br />the approval of the City Council at any time without public auction. <br />Such declaration shall be read at a regular meeting and such ap- <br />proval shall be given by ~lnute Order made by the City Council. <br /> <br /> Section 6: Whenever lost property found, recovered or held <br />by the Police Department shall accumulate to the point where the <br />City Marshall desires that the same be sold, he may sell the same <br />at public auction after complying with the provisions of Part 3, <br />Title 7, Chapter 6 of the Political Code of the State of California <br />as the same may be amended except that property held for individual <br />finders, not City employees, shall be returned to them on demand if <br />they have complied with the requirements of the Civil Code govsrnimg <br />the care, duties, end obligations of a finder, as the same appears in <br />Section 1S6~ et sub and no such property shall be sold without giving <br />notice in writing to the person turning it in. <br /> <br /> Section ?: All sales of City owned real property shall be made <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
