Resolution No. 2024-XXX <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-___ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 91-088, <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-076 AND RESOLUTION NO. 2000-062 <br />REGARDING PERMIT PARKING DISTRICT PETITIONS <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana herby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A.Pursuant to Article XI (commencing with Section 36-480) of Chapter 36 of the <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana is <br />authorized to adopt resolutions establishing permit parking districts in which <br />parking restrictions apply to all vehicles except those vehicles that have been <br />issued parking permits pursuant to such Article. <br />B.By Resolution No. 1991-088, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />established the South Coast Permit Parking District, as shown on Exhibit 1, <br />attached hereto and incorporated by reference; By Resolution No. 2020-021 the <br />City Council amended Resolution No. 1991-088 as shown on Exhibit 2, attached <br />hereto and incorporated by reference; By Resolution No. 93-076, the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana established the Sandpointe Permit Parking District, as <br />shown on Exhibit 3, attached hereto and incorporated by reference; By <br />Resolution No. 2000-062, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana established <br />the South Metro Permit Parking District, as shown on Exhibit 4, attached hereto <br />and incorporated by reference. <br />C.The City’s adopted General Plan allows for significant mixed-use redevelopment <br />within the South Bristol Focus Area. <br />D.City staff has conducted extensive outreach in the neighborhoods in and around <br />the South Bristol Focus Area to solicit resident concerns and feedback regarding <br />the proposed redevelopment in the area. <br />E.Owners of properties on residential streets within the Parking Districts in and <br />around the South Bristol Focus Area have expressed concerns that proposed <br />development projects near the Parking Districts may impact available parking on <br />their streets and have asked the City to modify procedures to facilitate expanded <br />utilization and participation in the City's permit parking program. <br />F.The City is in the process of performing a Citywide parking study to in part, <br />evaluate Citywide permit parking program modifications.
