The report <br />recommendations shall be included in construction specifications and permits; <br />and confirmed through onsite inspections. <br />City of Santa Ana Building <br />Mitigation Measure GEO-2: Implementation of Geotechnical <br />Prior to issuance of <br />Recommendations for Groundwater and Expansive Soils. Project plans, <br />grading permits <br />Safety Division <br />grading specifications, and construction permitting shall incorporate site specific <br />earthwork and ground improvement requirements related to groundwater <br />saturated soils and expansive soils consistent with the California Building Code <br />and City of Santa Ana requirements applicable at the time of <br />grading/construction as stated in a design level geotechnical report and <br />approved by the City's Building and Safety Division. This shall include <br />recommendations related to discovery of groundwater, wet soils, or unstable <br />soils during grading, stabilization, dewatering, fill materials, and foundations. <br />Mitigation Measure PALEO-1: Retention of a Qualified Paleontologist. <br />In Prior to any grading <br />City of Santa Ana Building <br />Project plans, grading specifications, and construction permitting shall ensure <br />permits <br />Safety Division <br />that prior to the start of excavation, the client shall retain a Qualified <br />Paleontologist who meets the professional criteria established by the Society of <br />Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP 2010) to oversee the implementation of all <br />paleontological resources mitigation requirements for the proposed Project. <br />Inclusion in Project plans, <br />City of Santa Ana Building <br />Mitigation Measure PALEO-2: Paleontological Resources Sensitivity <br />Training. The training session shall focus on how to identify <br />issuance of grading <br />paleontological resources that may be encountered during excavations and the <br />permits <br />procedures to be followed in the event of their discovery.
