CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />Sidewalks in the parkway designated for replacement shall be replaced at the same width <br />as existing unless otherwise specified and shall conform to City of Santa Ana Standard <br />Plan No. 1104. Sidewalk replacement shall include removing all existing materials below <br />existing sidewalk to make necessary to construct new sidewalk. <br />Curb ramps shall conform to City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No. 1122 unless otherwise <br />specified. <br />All new concrete shall be placed within five (5) working days after removal of existing <br />concrete. <br />All concrete work shall be finished in texture, scoring, banding in generally the same <br />manner as the adjacent existing improvements, unless specified. <br />1.14 PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE (PCC) GRINDING <br />Grinding existing PCC curb and sidewalk shall be done as shown on the Plans. Grinding <br />shall be done with a power -driven machine that will leave a finished surface comparable <br />to the adjacent sidewalk surface. Excessively smooth surfaces which will become slippery <br />when wet are not acceptable. <br />Unless shown otherwise on the plans, the grinding width shall be assumed to be one -foot <br />wide. <br />Limits of PCC Grinding shall be measured along the uplifted edge. <br />1.15 PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE (PCC) PAVEMENT CONSTRUCTION <br />PCC Pavement and bus pads shall conform to Section 302-6 of the Standard Specifications <br />and these Special Provisions. <br />PCC used for street pavement and bus pad construction shall be minimum class 560-A- <br />3250. In addition to these minimum requirements, the concrete shall possess the following <br />characteristics: <br />Flexural strength at 28 days: 550 p.s.i. min. <br />Flexural strength at 7 days: 430 p.s.i. min. <br />Compressive strength at 7 days: 2500 p.s.i. min. <br />All cement to be used or furnished on this Project shall be Type II low alkaline Portland <br />Cement conforming to ASTM C 150. <br />36 <br />
