CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />The Sand Equivalent requirement of Section 200-1.5.3 shall be replaced with the <br />following: <br />Tests Test Method Requirements <br />Sand Equivalent Calif. 217 <br />Individual Test 70 min.* <br />Moving Average 75 min.* <br />* For 2500 or less class concrete, except concrete pavement, a minimum 65 <br />Individual Test Result and a minimum 70 Moving Average will be acceptable if 2500 psi <br />28-day strength criteria of Section 201-1.1.4 are met, at a six (6) inch slump or greater. <br />Evaluation of Sand Equivalent and Cleanness Value results shall conform to the provisions <br />of Subsections 200-1.4 and 200-1.5. <br />All cement to be used or furnished on this Project shall be Type II low alkaline Portland <br />cement conforming to ASTM C150. <br />1.13 CONCRETE CURBS, GUTTERS, WALKS, RAMPS, DRIVEWAY APPROACHES, <br />ALLEY APRONS, AND CROSS GUTTERS <br />This Section shall conform to Sections 201, 303 and 400 of the Standard Specifications <br />and these Special Provisions. <br />Curbs and/or gutters to be constructed shall match existing in all dimensions and shall <br />conform to City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No. 1101. Reconstructed curb and gutters <br />shall be constructed so the top of curb matches the sidewalk surface elevation. When the <br />plans do not show replacement limit stations, the Engineer shall approve replacement <br />limits. Prior to acceptance of the curb and gutter construction by the Engineer, a flow test <br />shall be conducted by the Contractor in the presence of the Engineer. <br />Curb depressions for driveway approaches and sidewalk thickness across driveway shall <br />be in accordance with City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No. 1112 in lieu of dimensions <br />indicated in Section 303-5.1.3 of the Standard Specifications. <br />Alley and alley apron shall conform to City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No. 1111. <br />All culvert openings encountered when replacing curb and gutter shall be reconstructed per <br />City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No. 318 or 319. <br />During construction of driveway approaches, the Contractor shall maintain access to each <br />business at all times. In some cases, construction of one-half of a driveway approach at a <br />time may be required. The construction of the driveway approach shall encompass the curb <br />and gutter situated in front of the driveway, unless there is a continuous replacement of <br />curb and gutter on both sides of the driveway approach. In such cases, the curb and gutter <br />improvements shall be incorporated into the curb and gutter item. <br />35 <br />
