CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />2.00 SPECIAL PROVISIONS - TRAFFIC SIGNING & STRIPING <br />2.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />The work to be done consists, in general, removal and installation of signs, posts, raised <br />pavement markers, stripes, pavement markings and curb markings as shown on the plans <br />and as described below. Items or details not specifically mentioned in the following Sub - <br />Sections that are required by the project plans, in the applicable 2018 Caltrans Standard <br />Specifications, 2018 Caltrans Standard Plans, City of Santa Ana Standard Plans, Standard <br />Specifications for Public Works Construction (SSPWC) or these Special Provisions shall <br />be performed, constructed or installed. <br />2.02 STRIPING (TRAFFIC STRIPES AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS) <br />This Section shall conform to the latest City of Santa Ana Standard Plans, the Caltrans <br />Standard Plans, provisions in Section 84 of the Caltrans Standard Specifications, and these <br />Special Provisions. <br />A. GENERAL <br />All traffic stripes, crosswalks, limit lines and pavement markings shall be thermoplastic <br />ALKYD BINDER, except for temporary striping, crosswalks and limit lines. <br />All green bikeway markings shall be Methyl Methacrylate (MMA). MMA shall have <br />skid resistance and be approved equal to Ennis -Flint CycleGrip MMAX or Transpo <br />ViziGrip and comply with FHWA requirements. The application of MMA shall comply <br />and be in strict adherence to manufacturer's installation instructions and <br />recommendations. <br />All curb markings and median island markings shall be painted using Environmental <br />Protection Agency (EPA) compliant paint material. Paint shall be fast or rapid dry type <br />solvent of similar or approved equal to that manufactured by Ennis or Pervo Paint <br />Companies and shall meet all requirements of South Coast Air Quality Management <br />District. The rate of paint to be applied shall be per recommendation of the paint <br />manufacturer. <br />All pavement markings including legends, arrows, and symbols shall be per Caltrans <br />Standard Plan A24A - A24E. <br />All crosswalks at signalized intersections with wheelchair ramps shall be striped with <br />a 5' diagonal (45°) cut-off at the curb return, as shown in City of Santa Ana Standard <br />Plans No. 1130. Crosswalk stripes shall be 12 inches wide. <br />All STOP legends and limit lines at stop controlled intersections shall be installed, as <br />shown in City of Santa Ana Standard Plans No. 1505. Limit Line stripes shall be 12 <br />inches wide. <br />42 <br />
