CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />boxes and foundations in a most expedient manner, and minimize the disruption and <br />inconvenience of an extended construction schedule. Construction, once started, shall be <br />pursued until completion. <br />Above ground signal work shall not commence until such time that the Contractor notifies <br />the Engineer, in writing, of the date that all electrical materials and equipment controller <br />assemblies, are received; and said work shall start within fifteen (15) days after said date. <br />No materials or equipment shall be stored at the job site (outside of the public right-of- <br />way) until the City issues a Notice to Proceed. The job sites shall be maintained in a neat <br />and orderly condition at all times. No materials or equipment shall be stored within the <br />public right-of-way. <br />Unless noted otherwise, at least 5 working days of advanced notice shall be given (on any <br />working day except Friday or the day preceding a legal holiday) to the Inspector for any <br />installations of or modifications to channelization, signing, traffic signal and lighting <br />systems. If sufficient notice is not given, the City shall not be liable for any resulting delays. <br />4.05 SUBMITTAL OF EQUIPMENT LIST AND DRAWINGS <br />The contractor shall submit the followings for approval prior to the start of construction <br />or some cases, before manufacturing: <br />1. Certificate (or letter from manufacturer) of Compliance to Caltrans specifications <br />for traffic signal poles and equipment. <br />2. Certificate (or letter from manufacturer) of Compliance to Caltrans specifications <br />for LED units. <br />3. Layout of each Reflectorized Street Name Sign. <br />Certificate of Compliance is not required for equipment specifically called for by <br />manufacture name and model. <br />For new traffic signal installation, the Contractor shall supply 3 bond copies (24"06") of <br />the controller cabinet schematic wiring diagrams. <br />For simple traffic signal modification, the contractor will make necessary revisions to the <br />existing traffic cabinet print and supply the City 3 bond copies (24"06") of the revised <br />traffic cabinet print. <br />For major traffic signal modification where revision to the existing cabinet print is not <br />feasible, the contractor shall prepare and supply new cabinet prints as required. <br />Materials lists, manufacturer's data, equipment brochures and operations manuals, <br />technical data, controller cabinet wiring diagram, and all other related equipment <br />information, shall be labeled and identified, and shall be submitted in bound booklet form. <br />53 <br />
