CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />placed for each direction of traffic. Sign sizes shall be 30" minimum. Locations of the signs <br />shall be as directed by the Engineer. <br />The contractor shall be responsible for any additional temporary wiring, which may be <br />required on a day-to-day basis due to the construction. <br />4.07 TURN -ON AND FUNCTIONAL TESTING <br />The Inspector shall be notified at least five (5) working days before the intended turn -on <br />and provide method and schedule of turn -on procedure. <br />The Inspector shall be notified a minimum of two work days in advance of planned <br />connection of the new or modified traffic signal to the traffic signal communications <br />system, if the new or modified traffic signal is to be connected to the traffic signal <br />communications system. <br />All permanent striping, pavement markings, and signing shall be in place prior to beginning <br />of the Functional Test Period for any new or modified traffic signal system. The Contractor <br />shall complete all sandblasting, striping, pavement markings, and roadside signing <br />installations and modifications shown on the plans prior to beginning the Functional Test <br />Period. <br />The Contractor shall at his own expense, arrange to have a technician, qualified to work on <br />the equipment listed below and employed by the equipment manufacturer, or his <br />representative, present at the time the equipment is turned on: <br />1. Traffic signal controller and cabinet assembly <br />2. Video detection equipment (if applicable) <br />3. Emergency vehicle preemption equipment (if applicable) <br />4. Uninterruptible power supply equipment (if applicable) <br />5. Transit Signal Priority equipment (if applicable) <br />The Engineer shall be notified at least two working days prior to the beginning of the <br />functional test period. <br />The Functional Testing Period of the modified traffic signal system shall not be made on <br />Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or the day preceding or following a Federal holiday. The <br />Engineer shall be notified at least two working days prior to the beginning of the Functional <br />Testing Period. The Functional Testing Period will not be allowed to begin without prior <br />authorization by the Engineer. <br />55 <br />
