CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />shall begin at a manhole adjacent to the most likely point of interference and <br />unless blocked by an impassable obstruction, shall end at the closest upstream <br />or downstream manhole or cleanout structure. Under no circumstances shall <br />the contractor deliver to the City a video of a survey that was otherwise <br />abandoned. If the camera cannot pass the entire sewer reach from its point of <br />insertion, the reach shall be inspected from both directions. The consultant shall <br />notify the City immediately of any such obstruction so that it may be repaired <br />or mitigated by the City and/or the contractor and complete inspection of the <br />pipe may proceed. <br />Television inspection of sewer mains with high volumes of flow (pipe running <br />1/3 full or more) may, with prior consent of the City, be done at night between <br />the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. No added compensation shall be allowed for <br />night work. Notwithstanding, the consultant shall always use whatever <br />mechanical means are available, including modification or changing of the <br />camera wheels or treads, to insure that the image is recorded in an upright, <br />un-rotated position. The City reserves the right to reject any videotape where <br />changes in the orientation of the camera could have been corrected by such <br />modifications or by performing the work during periods of low flow. <br />CCTV inspections shall be delivered in an electronic format (CD/DVD) to the <br />Engineer for review and approval. <br />Cost for video inspection if required, shall be considered as included in other <br />bid items. <br />4.16 PULL BOXES <br />Pull boxes shall conform to the provisions in Section 86-1.02C, "Pull Boxes," and Section <br />87-1.03C, "Installation of Pull Boxes," of the Caltrans Standard Specifications, Caltrans <br />Standard Plan ES-8, and these Special Provisions. <br />Pull boxes' size shall be Number 6 except where shown otherwise on the plan or as directed <br />by the Traffic Engineer. Bottoms shall be bedded in crushed rock. Pull boxes shall not be <br />grouted. Pull boxes shall be polymer concrete reinforced with heavy -weave fiberglass and <br />plastic lining. Pull box covers shall be lightweight (Christy Fibrelyte, or approved equal) <br />with bolt down kit. <br />Pull boxes adjacent to Traffic Signal poles shall have 10 foot ground rod with ground clamp <br />and shall be fastened to bare grounding conductor from Traffic Signal pole. <br />New pull boxes shall not be installed within any curb access ramp. No new pull box shall <br />be located within five feet of a water meter or fire hydrant. <br />Replace sidewalk in -kind to match existing material, color, and pattern, from score mark <br />to score mark after pull boxes have been installed. <br />
