CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />The aluminum mounting brackets shall be adjustable (MD Solutions Inc. <br />Oscillating Mast Arm Bracket-Adj or equivalent). <br />When installation of the sign to the mast arm is complete, the sign should swing <br />freely 90 degrees in both directions when moved by the installer. <br />5. Finish: <br />The finished sign shall be flat within a ratio of 0.40" (10 mm) per linear foot when <br />measured across the plane of each panel from opposite corners or at any location <br />on the panel. All finished signs shall have a smooth flat surface without defects or <br />objectionable marks of any kind on either the front or the back faces. All letters <br />and designs shall be clearly cut and sharply defined. <br />The appearance of the sign face shall be uniform throughout and shall be free of <br />wrinkles, gel, hard spots, streaks, extrusion marks, air bubbles or blemishes that <br />may impair the serviceability, detract from the general appearance or color - <br />matching of the sign when viewed from a distance of twenty-five (25) feet (7.5 m). <br />The finished sign shall be clean and free from all burns, sharp edges, loose rivets <br />and aluminum marks. <br />Signs with any defects or damage that affect their appearance and serviceability <br />will not be acceptable. All metal parts shall be fabricated in a uniform and quality <br />workmanlike manner with all sign surfaces and edges free of defects. No repairs <br />shall be made to the face sheet without the approval of the City inspectors. <br />4.31 REMOVING, REINSTALLING, OR SALVAGING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT <br />Salvaging and stockpiling electrical equipment shall conform to the provisions in Section <br />15, "Existing Facilities," of the Caltrans Standard Specifications and these Special <br />Provisions. <br />When called for on the plan, salvaged equipment shall be delivered to the City of Santa <br />Ana Public Works Agency Maintenance Yard, Santa Ana. The Contractor shall notify the <br />City a minimum of two working days prior to delivery of salvaged equipment. <br />Existing equipment removed and not to be reused or salvaged to the City of Santa Ana <br />shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the site by the <br />Contractor. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to <br />remove, salvage, transport, and dispose of equipment not reused. <br />All reused or relocated vehicle and pedestrian heads shall be painted to match new <br />equipment color. <br />75 <br />
