CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />The contractor shall provide traffic control as required and approved by the agency having <br />jurisdiction. Under no circumstances shall the abandonment take place before existing <br />sewers and manholes are out of service and all flow directed to the new or alternate pipes. <br />The manhole wall shall be removed to 18-inches below finished surface and be completely <br />removed and properly disposed of, unless otherwise shown. <br />The manhole base shall be perforated or cored through and filled with sand (SE 30 <br />minimum). <br />The manhole rim and cover shall be salvaged and delivered to the City of Santa Ana Water <br />Resources Division at 215 S. Center Street. <br />Existing pipe ends within manholes to be abandoned shall be plugged with concrete and <br />bricks per section 306-5. Concrete shall be Class C and bricks shall be a manhole brick as <br />specified in Section 202-1 of the Standard Specifications. <br />The contractor shall remove and replace all asphalt, concrete pavement, earthwork, <br />landscaping, or other surface damaged by the abandonment operations per an in <br />conformance with these provisions. <br />6.15 CONSTRUCT 4" OR 6" HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE) SEWER <br />LATERALS AND CLEANOUTS (PIPE BURST) <br />This work involves the installation of HDPE Pipe. Method of construction shall be via <br />trenchless pipe replacement installations. <br />The Contractor shall connect to the new sewer main and to the existing sewer lateral pipe <br />at the property line. The existing sewer lateral shall be depicted on the construction plans <br />based on the best information available. It is the Contractor's responsibility to "locate <br />all points of connection for each new sewer lateral at both ends: the wye at the public <br />sewer main and the private connection point at property line where lateral cleanout <br />will be constructed." The Contractor shall insert a push camera with sounder/locator up <br />the lateral from the main (insertion pit) to mark and locate the point of connection at the <br />property line. All locations points shall be marked in the field prior to installation and <br />construction of new sewer lateral. <br />Underground conduit construction shall conform to all applicable Subsections of Section <br />306 and Section 500 of the Standard Specifications, the Standard Plans and these Special <br />Provisions. <br />High density polyethylene pipe in accordance with these specifications shall be used in <br />pipe bursting or trenchless pipe replacement installations. <br />100 <br />
