CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />Metal in saddles, clamps and appurtenances shall be 302 or 304 stainless steel following <br />ASTM A240. <br />Elastomeric materials, gaskets, clamps and connectors shall be oil resistant and <br />manufactured following ASTM F477. <br />The Contractor shall submit certification by the manufacturer of the pipe bursting system <br />to have successfully completed training in operating the bursting head, installing proposed <br />replacement pipe and operation and maintenance of all equipment to be used. <br />The Contractor shall submit certification by the manufacturer of the fusing equipment <br />having successfully completed training in handling replacement of pipe materials, butt - <br />fusion of pipe joints and saddle fusion of fittings for service laterals, and operation and <br />maintenance of all equipment to be used. The Certificate of Training includes at a <br />minimum: Installer's name, date of issuance and process or product the person/s is/are <br />certified to install. These certifications of training and operation of pipe bursting system <br />shall be submitted prior to commencing pipe bursting work. <br />The curb and gutter shall be protected in place. If the Contractor damages curb, gutter, it <br />shall be removed and replaced to match existing in accordance with City of Santa Ana <br />Standard Plan No. 1101. This work shall also include removal and replacement of PCC <br />sidewalk, driveway panels and landscaping to facilitate construction of sewer laterals. PCC <br />sidewalk and driveway approach panels shall be replaced to match existing in accordance <br />with City of Santa Ana Standard Plan Nos. 1104 and 1112. Sidewalk replacement shall be <br />from score line to score line, unless the sidewalk panels exceed four feet in length. At no <br />time, shall a sidewalk panel floater be less than four feet from the nearest score line. <br />Landscaping shall be replaced in -kind. <br />6.16 CONSTRUCT 4" OR 6" POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) SEWER LATERALS AND <br />CLEANOUTS (OPEN TRENCH) <br />PVC sewer pipe shall be as manufactured by JM EAGLE or approved equivalent. <br />PVC gravity sewer pipe and fittings shall conform to ASTM D3034 for diameters from 4" <br />- 15", and ASTM F679 for 18" - 24", with integral bell gasket joints. Rubber gaskets shall <br />be factory installed and conform to ASTM F477. <br />Pipe shall be made of PVC plastic having a cell classification of 12454B or 12364B as <br />defined in ASTM D1784 and shall have SDR of 26 and minimum pipe stiffness of 115 psi <br />according to ASTM Test D2412. <br />Pipe shall be installed in compliance with ASTM D2321. Bedding material shall provide <br />adequate and uniform support under the pipe. <br />Underground conduit construction shall conform to all applicable Subsections of Section <br />306 of the Standard Specifications, the Standard Plans and these Special Provisions. <br />103 <br />
