CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />The top layer of asphalt concrete pavement shall be a leveling course that shall not exceed <br />0.10' in compacted thickness. The leveling course shall be applied over both cold mill and <br />reconstruction areas concurrently. <br />Section 302-5.5 entitled "Distribution and Spreading" of the Standard Specifications shall <br />be modified as follows: <br />Successive courses shall not be laid upon previously laid courses until 24 hours <br />after the previous course was laid. <br />Section 302-5.6.2 entitled "Density and Smoothness" of the Standard Specifications shall <br />be modified as follows: <br />When a 10 foot straightedge is laid on the finished surface both parallel and <br />perpendicular to the centerline of the roadway, the surface shall not vary from the <br />edge of the straightedge more than 1/8 inch, except at intersections or at changes of <br />grade. <br />The Contractor shall construct temporary asphalt concrete ramping with a slope of 1:1 at <br />the edge of open excavation if all of the following occur: <br />1. Clearance between travel lane and open excavation is less than five (5) feet, <br />2. Excavation depth is six (6) inches or deeper, and <br />3.
