Appoint members to serve as representatives through December 2026 to the Joint <br />School City Council Standing Subcommittee <br />2. Disband the Legislative City Council Standing Subcommittee and the Public Safety <br />and Homelessness City Council Standing Subcommittee <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2021-089 <br />ESTABLISHING THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELESSNESS CITY COUNCIL <br />STANDING SUBCOMMITTEE AND THE LEGISLATIVE CITY COUNCIL STANDING <br />SUBCOMMITTEE <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No <br />DISCUSSION <br />Biannually, following each General Municipal Election, the City Council reviews the City <br />Council Standing Subcommittees and appoints interested members to serve on the <br />subcommittees. Standing committees continue indefinitely and require periodic <br />evaluation to ensure the committee is necessary, fulfilling its intended purpose, and <br />providing value. Staff recommends that appointments be made to the Joint School <br />Collaboration City Council Standing Subcommittee and that the remaining two <br />subcommittees be disbanded.
