CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> SPECIFICATIONS <br /> PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br /> TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br /> AVENUE <br /> 3-12 WORK SITE MAINTENANCE <br /> 3-12.1 General <br /> Add the following to this subsection: <br /> The contractor shall keep the work site clean and free from rubbish and debris at the end of every <br /> working day. In addition,the Contractor shall be fully responsible for removing any graffiti placed <br /> on new improvements or Contractor's equipment daily immediately at the start of the work day. <br /> The City of Santa Ana has adopted an ordinance to assist the City in complying with the State of <br /> California's Assembly Bill 939 law which requires that all cities and counties in the State reduce <br /> the amount of trash disposed of in landfills by 50%. Failure to comply with State law could result <br /> in a fine to the City of$10,000 per day. <br /> Santa Ma Municipal Code Section 16-30 (f) will ensure that construction and demolition waste <br /> generated within the City can be accounted for and recycled. The ordinance states the following, <br /> "Any person with whom the City has an agreement for the collection, transportation and disposal <br /> of construction and demolition solid waste which has accumulated and/or been generated at a <br /> temporary construction site may haul such waste during the term of such agreement." <br /> The only company approved by the City Council to haul temporary construction and demolition <br /> material in the City of Santa Ana is: <br /> Republic Services <br /> 2700 N. Main Street, Suite 1000 <br /> Santa Ana, CA 92705 <br /> Phone Number: (877) 328-2074 <br /> Contractors shall contact Republic Services to arrange for the collection and recycling of <br /> construction debris. <br /> Persons who generate solid waste on the premises may personally collect, transport, and dispose <br /> of their own solid waste providing that they do so in accordance with all governing laws and <br /> regulations and dispose of such solid waste at a site permitted by the California Integrated Waste <br /> Management Board. <br /> 3-12.2 Air Pollution Control <br /> Add the following to this subsection: <br /> All organic solvents used must comply with the rules, regulations and orders of the South Coast <br /> Air Quality Management District(SCAQMD)relating to organic solvents. <br /> 3-12.3 Noise Control <br /> The Contractor shall comply with all local sound control and noise level rules, regulations and <br /> ordinances which apply to any work performed pursuant to the contract. Each internal combustion <br /> engine,used for any purpose on the job or related to the job, shall be equipped with a muffler of a <br /> type recommended by the Manufacturer.
