On motion of Councilman <br /> Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the recommendation of the <br /> Planning Commission was approved and variance granted subject to the <br /> conditions of the Commission and the Department of Public.Works. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br /> granted to Ray S. Aquinaga to permit addition of a storage room and <br /> to remodel the front of store at 802 North Artesia Street, continuing <br /> to operate the existing grocery store. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br /> granted to Victor J. Borchard to permit use of property at 626 South <br /> Cypress Street for customer parking of Borchard~s Market, subject to <br /> <br /> the condition that the entire pa~king area be blacktopped. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br /> granted to Louis Hill to use the property at 1503 West Fourth Street <br /> for storage and distribution of newspapers, but that the rear yard <br /> requirement remain at l0t rather than 5', due to the fact that there <br /> <br /> is no given hardship as far as the rear yard requirement is concerned. <br /># <br /> <br /> Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Reso- <br /> lution No. 762 recommending the reclassification of property at the <br /> northwest corner of Fairview Avenue and Bristol Street, from the R-1 <br /> to the "C" District, in accordance with smendment application of <br /> <br /> Edgar M. and Daniel E. Cohn. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded <br /> by Jerome and carried, a notice of public hearing was ordered published <br /> setting date of hearing as April 4th, 1955. <br /> <br /> Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Reso- <br /> lution No. 155 recommending the reclassification of property on the <br /> south side of West 5th Street between King Street, if ex~ended, and <br /> the west City Limits, from the R-1 District to the M-2 District, in <br /> accordance with amendment application Of Allison Honer Company. On <br /> motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded bY Dahl and carried, a notice <br /> of public hearing was ordered published setting date of h~ aring as <br /> April 4th, 1955. <br /> <br /> CommUnications were read from the Plan~ing Commission recommending <br /> approval of proposed annexation to the City of a parcel of land <br /> situated south of Dyer Road between Main Street and Ne~,rport Avenue, <br /> containing approximately $0.523 acres and from the Boun~ary Commission <br /> <br /> stating that the boundaries are reasonably definite and certain. On <br /> <br /> motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> documents were received and filed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, that <br /> escrow instructions be approved and signed for properties on Bristol <br /> Street between 4th and 5th Streets, and warrants ordered issued cover- <br /> <br /> <br />
