<br /> On motion of Councilman Hein]y, seconded by Markel and carried, the ~
<br /> communication from the County Board of Supervisors advising of the
<br />
<br /> cancellation of taxes on certain properties purchased by the City for ~,
<br /> Civic Center sites and the extension of Orange Avenue, was received
<br /> and filed.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Ds~hl, seconded by Heinly and carried, the
<br /> applications of Pacific Water Company, Dyke Water Company, et al,
<br /> before the Public Utilities Commission, for authority to extend its
<br /> certificated areas in Orange County, and for authority to extend its
<br /> water service to additional territory in the vicih~ty of Garden C~rove,
<br /> were received and filed.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br /> application of Laguna Beach-Santa Ana Stage Line before the Pub!lo
<br /> Utilities Commission, for transfer of partnership interest, was
<br />
<br /> received and filed.

<br /> Communication was read from the Department of Public Works ~advisi~g
<br /> that improvements within the boundaries of Record of Survey at Riviera
<br /> Drive and Westwood Avenue have been completed and on motion of Council
<br /> man Ds~hl, seconded by Markel and carried, bond filed by Emmet C. RogerS,
<br /> in the sum of $5,300.00 was ordered released and improvements acaepted
<br /> as completed.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly and carried, the
<br /> plans for the construction of Dyer Road between Main Street and Newpor
<br /> Road, were approved,
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Dahl and carried, Dale H.
<br /> Heinly was appointed as an alternate to the Mayor on County .Sanitation
<br />
<br />· District No. 2.
<br />
<br /> Communication was read from the Department of Public Works advising
<br /> that improvements within Tract No. 2188 have been completed and on
<br /> motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, bond file.
<br /> by Messrs. John H. Lows and H.D.Meyer, in the sum of $17,000.00, was
<br /> ordered released and improvements accepted as completed.

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, proper
<br />officials were authorized to execute contract with James M. Montgomery
<br />for engineering services in connection with the design and inspection
<br />for ~onstruction of a reservoir and pum.~2ing faci]ities at the First
<br />Street Pumping Station and pumping facilities at the Bristol Street
<br />
<br /> Pumping station.

<br /> On motion of Councilm~n Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br /> written recommendation, of the' Manager, dated September 1st, 1955,
<br /> setting forth salary stop incraaseS for two employees, effective
<br /> September 1st, 1955, was received, filed and approved.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br /> applications of Kenneth R. Pearson, Nevalee Adams, Ralph W. Lewis,
<br /> Samuel C. Bowser-, Andrew F. Lehman smd Charles 0. Oaroutte, to drive
<br /> taxicabs, were received, filed and granted.
