4OO <br /> <br />WATER <br />148. (1) <br /> <br />Use of all available water conservation techniques in plumbing and landscaping is <br />highly advisable. The project shall meet the following standards. <br /> <br />Plumbing, <br /> <br />a. Health and Safety Code (Section 17921.3) requiring installation of low flow toilets <br /> and showerheads. <br /> <br />b. Title 20 of the California Administrative Code requiring efficient showerheads, <br /> lavatory faucets, and sink faucets. <br /> <br />c. Government Code (Section 7800) specifies laboratories in public facilities be <br /> equipped with self-closing faucets. <br /> <br />d. Water pressure within the proposed buildings shall be maintained at 50 psi or less. <br /> <br />e. Recirculating hot water systems shall be installed to minimize water consumption. <br /> <br />f. Plumbing fixtures that reduce the potential water leakage due to excessive wear of <br /> washers shall be installed. <br /> <br />g. Water-conserving models of dish washers shall be used in the restaurant. <br /> <br />h. Low water-using plants shall be used for landscaping. <br /> <br />i. Setting automatic sprinkler systems to irrigate during early morning or evening <br /> hours shall be implemented. <br /> <br />j.
