180 <br /> <br />enabled them to develop a sense of accomplishment and success by passing classes they may <br />have otherwise failed. <br /> <br />STRATEGY FOR PRIORITY RISK FACTORS <br /> <br />There are four risk factors to be addressed by the Santa Ana Community Action Network that <br />fall within three areas. They include: <br /> <br />COMMUNITY <br />a. Low Neighborhood Attachment <br /> <br />SCHOOL <br />a. Academic Failure <br />b. Lack of Commitment to School <br /> <br />FAMILY <br />a. Family Management Problems <br /> <br />The strategies used to address the risk factors will be aligned with the mission and goals of <br />the Santa Ana 2000 which is a consortium of the City of Santa Ana, the Santa Ana Unified <br />School District, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, the Santa Ana <br />Chamber of Commerce, the Private Industry Council, and Rancho Santiago College. The <br />goals of the Santa Ana 2000 are: <br /> <br />4. <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Generate community wide commitment and involvement to create a high quality <br />educational system. <br />Link all community agencies and resources so that the needs of children and families <br />are met in a more effective and holistic way. <br />Collaborate among agencies so that human, financial, and infrastructure resources are <br />utilized in a more cost efficient manner. <br />Build multi-agency coalitions based on equal partnerships. <br />Enhance Santa Aha residents' level of pride, awareness of attributes, and volunteer <br />involvement in the community. <br />Measure progress that documents impact on children and families, agencies, and the <br />community. <br />Carry out all activities mindful and respectful of the ethnic and cultural diversity <br />within the community. <br /> <br />The Santa Ana 2000 Executive Committee is comprised of the six participants. Of particular <br />importance will be goals four and seven. All efforts of the project will be coordinated among <br />the participating agencies, organizations, and individuals in order to maximize resources and <br />support. The coalition will be under the immediate direction of a full-time Program <br />Coordinator who will report to the Recreation Supervisor for Prevention Programs. <br /> <br />The objectives of the Santa Ana Community Action Network include the following: <br /> <br /> <br />
