"RESOLUTXONNO. 98- 091 <br />DATE: I-(o- O~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING CERTAIN <br />COMMITTEES OF THE CITY COUNCIL. <br /> <br />629 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended to the City Council that it create committees of <br />less than a quorum of the Council for the purpose of focusing greater Council attention on key <br />priorities coming before the Council in the future; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest to provide effective <br />forums for in-depth review and study by members of the City Council of significant issues, <br />projects and matters outside of the established meetings of the full City Council. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. There shall be the following committees of the City Council: <br /> <br />ao <br /> <br />Annual Budget Review and Personnel/Labor Relations; <br />Downtown/Midtown/ArtistsVillage; <br />Light Rail Alignment and Development; <br />Neighborhood Improvement/Code Enforcement Programs and Activities; <br />Planning, Building and Development Services; <br />Public Safety; <br />South Main Street Improvement Plan; and, <br />Youth Alternatives and Development/School Capital <br />Development/EducationalEnhancement and Coordination. <br /> <br />The Mayor is authorized and directed to appoint not more than three <br />Councilmembersto each committee, and to fill any vacancies that may arise from <br />time to time. The actual number of Councilmemberson each committee shall be at <br />the discretion of the Mayor. <br /> <br />° <br /> <br />All meetings of the committees shall be subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act. Each <br />committee shall establish its own meeting schedule, and may adopt such other <br />procedural roles it deems desirable, consistent with State law, the Charter and the <br />Municipal Code. <br /> <br />4. The committees shall be empowered to study all issues within their respective areas <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
