STATE LEGISLATION On motion'of Council-~ Brooks, seconded By Councilman Griset and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution stating opposition to Assembly Bill ~J~9 which would prohibit municipal license taxes on motor vehicle carriers. On motion of Coumcilmaa ~rooks, seconded by Counc~]m~ Herrin and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution stating City's opposition to Assembly Bill 2~ regarding firefighterS collective negotiation. It was ~oved by Councilman ~rooks, seconded by Counc~l~ Herrin, to instruct the City Attorney to prepare a resolution opposing ACA ~ which would add a new section to Article XI of the Constitution regarding vacancies in elective offices in general law or chartered cities. Councilman Brooks then made a motion, seconded by Councilman Nerrin, to amend his motion to include Assembly Bill Bi0 and Assembly Biil 7~1 regarding vacancies in elective offices in general law cities, an/[ to also include Senate Bill 21 regarding disciplinary action against liquor licensees. Herrin, Brooks, Carlson, Griset, M~rkel, Thurman, McMichael None None CO~£f DISPOSAL FACILIT~ Report was presented regarding request of Costa Mesa Sanitary District that County Disposal Facility remain open 365 ~ays a year. Noting that the disposal facilities are closed only on three holidays, it was the decision of the City Council, on motion of Councilman Markel, seconded By Councilman Eerrin and carried, that the City Council express opposition to any proposal for the County to hold open the disposal facilities on these holidays.
