Promoting the involvement of the youth in work or playas a means ofbeller integrating them <br />into the workplace environment; <br /> <br />. Encouraging parents to allend PTA meetings and other school activities; <br /> <br />. Provide continuing career counseling to the youth, including follow-up counseling; <br /> <br />. Providing substance abuse treatment/recovery and/or prevention activities for youth who <br />require such services; <br /> <br />. Within 48 hours of their intakc, actively place youth in health programs, mental hcalth <br />program, literacy programs, etc., as necdcd; <br /> <br />. Before and after program completion, actively assist the families of the youth in accessing <br />other services as needed; <br /> <br />. Within two days of intake, hold an orientation meeting that reiterates areas covered in the <br />group counseling/mini courses with cach youth; <br /> <br />. Identify paired male/female adult mentors, train mentors, pair them with three to four youth, <br />and hold two ha]j~hour sessions per week per participant begirming within 48 hours of intake; <br /> <br />· Provide job-readiness training onsite at La Familia and through referrals to appropriate One- <br />Stops; <br /> <br />. Provide job development support directly and through refelTa]s to One-Stops; <br /> <br />. I.Iost collective faith-based activities at least thrce times over the 120-day program for youth <br />and families who wish to participate; <br /> <br />. Link youth who wish to participate with faith-based programs in their neighborhoods through <br />direct contacts with the faith leaders; <br /> <br />. Provide leadership opportunities for youth; <br /> <br />. Meet with families within the home environment at least four (4) times over the course of the <br />program; <br /> <br />. Link the families and mentors with low-cost recreation at least once a week; and <br /> <br />.
