The City needed a solution that would
increase bandwidth, scale, maintain their data's integrity and integrate with their existing
systems smoothly and securely, since the system was going to support many important
departments, including their 911 call center. With one of the quickest response times in Los
Angeles County, clocking in at three and a half minutes for fire and three point three minutes
for police emergencies, they also needed the solution to be up and running all the time with
liUte or no downtime and be installed quickly. The City also wanted a reliable high.
performance solution that would support e8usiness and CRM applications and be cost-efficient.

Pacific Coast Cabling installed a Corning fiber backbone, with both single- and multi-mode fiber
to support a newly installed LAN Gigabit Ethernet. In addition, Pacific Coast Cabling
recommended, designed and installed a Category 6 Avaya SYSTIMAX Structured Connectivity
Sotution to over 600 locations at City Hall to support their higher bandwidth requirements.
The solution supports proprietary software, general office and a sever. based storage area
network for the City's 1,000 employees. The solution atso accommodated Extreme Networks'
10-Gigabit core switches.

Pacific Coast Cabling worked with the contractor and managed the project to an on-time and
on.budget completion. The City is now considering Pacific Coast Cabling for their upcoming
municipal fiber network project. As a certified installer for both Avaya and Corning, Pacific
Coast Cabling has provided a complete 25-year product and applications assurance warranty for
this project.

About the City of Beverly Hills
The City of Beverly Hills is located in Southern California. The estimated population for 2006 is
34,075. The City's iconic image was enhanced with the spread of television shows and movies set in
Beverly Hills, among them The Jack Benny Show in the 195Os, The Beverly Hillbillies in the 19605
and, more recently, Beverly Hills Cop in the 19805 and Beverly Hills 90210 In the 19905. The mission
statement of the City's Information Technology department Is: to be a teader among municipal
Information Technology service providers. In partnership with City departments, Information
Technology will provide strategic vision for effective information systems. Accomplishment of this
mission will facilitate knowledge sharing and will result in satisfied customers.
