The solution selected for the retro upgrade ensured
availability/reliability of the network; data integrity; and was easily integrated with Daylight
Transport's existing systems. The speed of the installation, security, its performance and
robustness and value were also important when selecting this solution. The sotution also
needed to support their proprietary software application.

Pacific Coast Cabling installed the solution consisting of 2061 Lucent cable to 150 locations
with one voice and one data outlet each, on two floors. In addition, Pacific Coast Cabling built
their data center with seven MegaFrame data cabinets and nine relay racks on raised flooring.

I
I

The cutover was critical for this project. Since Daylight Transport, a transportation and
logistics company, relies on their T1 lines for destination and routing information, the cutover
had to be accomplished flawlessly - and it was.

The upgraded infrastructure has enhanCed the Daylight Transport's existing business structure
and introduced new ways of working that were not previously possible. The project was
completed on-time and on.budget.

As an Extended Warranty Provider for Lucent, Pacific Coast Cabling offered a 25-year warranty.

I
I
I
I
I

About Daylight Transport
Daylight Transport, headquartered in Long Beach, Calif., currently provides among the
best transportation and logistics services in the nation. A privately owned company founded in
1977, Daylight is one of the Top 100 Motor Carriers in the nation.
