to participants in tSe "Community SpotlightS', which could be <br />presented by the Mayor, at a suitable time, to persons who <br />in his opinion, or that of other Councilmen, were deserving, <br />on the unanimously approved motion of Councilman Bricken, <br />seconded by Councilman Ward. : CA 80.6 <br /> CA 75B <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUN{CATION Responding to a <br />PRESS ROOM question from <br /> Councilman Evans, <br /> on the City's <br />policy regarding the Council Chamber "press room", the <br />City Manager stated that it was designed for use by the <br />press, and as an instructional aid for anybody bringing <br />groups to the City Council; that the press has been pro- <br />vided keys; and that unauthorized useage of the room is <br />not encouraged. <br /> <br />Councilman Evans responded that on occasion he had noticed <br />citizens leave the Council Chambers and go into the press <br />room. He stated his opinion that if they are not members <br />of the press, and have not made arrangements with the press <br />or staff-~o be there, the practice should be discouraged; <br />and that p~rhaps a specific policy should be formulated in <br />that regard. CA 80.6 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION All City Building <br />WAFFLE HOUSE Department and <br /> Public Works Depart- <br /> ment fees incurred <br />by the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society in conjunc- <br />tion with its rennovation of the City-owned Waffle House <br />were waived, on motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Bricken, and carried (4-5), with Councilmen Evans, <br />Yamamoto and Ortiz dissenting. CA 85.1d <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Mrs, Janice Boer, <br />PLANNING COMMISSION 912 North Lowell, <br /> stated that the <br /> Council has an <br />obligation to the citizens to remove the Planning Commis- <br />sioner who was convicted of a felony; that the people of the <br />City are entitled to have someone representing them making <br />judgments on the matters brought before the Planning Commis- <br />sion regarding property, who has demonstrated that he has <br />good judgment. CA 78.1a <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT At 10:S0 P.M., the <br /> meeting was adjourned <br /> to May 6, 197S, at <br /> : 7:00 P.M., in Room <br />831, City Hall, for a study session to consider the Manage- <br />ment Improvement Program Report prepared by consultant <br />Arthur D.
