CA 42.5 <br /> <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING The City Attorney <br />APPEAL NO. 548 was instructed to <br />CUP 75-2 prepare a resolution <br /> upholding the deci- <br />sion of the Planning Commission, and denying Conditional <br />Use Permit 7S-2, on motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded <br />by Councilman Ward, and carried on the following roll call <br />vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Bricken, Ward, Yamamoto, Garthe <br /> <br />NOES: Brandt, Evans, <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />0rtiz <br /> <br />Prior to the motion, Councilman Evans stated that he would <br />continue to support similar appeals due to the $300 filing <br />fee for: the Conditional Use Permit, which in his opinion is <br />unfair~. -He suggested that the sign company representatives <br />would welcome an opportunity to show a proposed billboard <br />site:to the Planning Director prior to submission of an <br />application for his approval; that if the Director disapproved <br />the site, they would not pursue the matter; and that this <br />method would prevent appeals and unnecessary expenses by the <br />sign companies. CA 13.4 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Brandt <br />CITIZEN RECOGNITION stated that on <br /> April 28, there <br /> was an article in <br />the "Register".about a La Habra policeman who lives in <br />Santa Ana who was instrumental in saving the~life of a <br />child who had been severely shocked while bathing;~that <br />in keeping with his philosophy of recognizing people who <br />contribute something to the image of the community, he <br />would request Council's permission to present an appropriate <br />commendatory resolution in a public ceremony to the police <br />officer.
