EXECUTIVE SESSION At 5:00 P.M. Mayor Evans <br /> recessed the meeting to <br /> hold an Executive Session <br /> to discuss pending litiga- <br />tion; at 6:00 P.M. the meeting was reconvened and immediately <br />recessed for dinner; at 7:30 P.M. the meeting was reconvened <br />with all Councilmen present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />United Lutheran Church of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag, <br />the Invocation was given <br />by Reverend Nickel of the <br /> CA 80.17 <br /> <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION Mayor Evans announced that <br />MERLE LARSON - BOWERS MUSEUM BOARD the Certificate of Apprecia- <br /> tion prepared for Merle <br /> Larson in appreciation <br />for his many years of service on the Bowers Memorial Museum Board <br />will be mailed to him because he was not able to be present at <br />the meeting. CA 85.3 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION PRESENTATION Vice Mayor James Ward made <br />"MASTERS RUN FOR FUN & HEALTH WEEK" the presentation of the <br /> Proclamation "Masters Run <br /> for Fun and Health Week" <br />to Thomas D. Clayton, Meet Director for the 1977 Amateur Athletic <br />Union Masters Western Regional Track and Field Championships. <br />Vice Mayor Ward stated that the Council encourages individuals <br />in recreation and health-building activities. A1 Sheehan, a <br />Master Runner, accompanied Mr. Clayton in accepting the presenta- <br />tion. Mr. Clayton said that the Proclamation was greatly <br />appreciated, and invited the Mayor to represent the City at a <br />buffet banquet on Saturday, June 18, at the Saddleback Inn. <br /> CA 46 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PRESENTATION Councilman John Garthe <br />"WELCOMING RELAMPAGO DEL CIELO welcomed Manuel Bsqueda, <br />INTO THE OFFICIAL FAMILY OF and presented Council's <br />SANTA ANA Resolution No. 77-60 <br /> "Welcoming Relampago <br />del Cielo"into the Official Family of Santa Ana" to him. Coun- <br />cilman Ortiz announced that the group plans a trip to Mexico <br />next year; he complimented the group for its service to the <br />community. CA 1S1 <br /> <br />CITY SEAL TILE PRESENTATION Police Chief Ray Davis <br />FOSTER & KLEISER announced that the firm <br />SERVICE TO COP PROGRAM of Foster & Kleiser had <br /> contributed significantly <br />to the success of the Community Oriented Police Program in <br />Santa Ana by providing 30 billboards in the City, arranging for <br />numerous spot announcements on television stations and for <br />newspaper articles publicizing the City's effort to control <br />crime in the City. Chief Davis presented a City Seal tile <br />plaque to Bob Reed of Foster & Kleiser, a subsidiary of Metro <br />Media, with the City's grateful appreciation. Councilman Brandt <br />said that this was an indication of the accomplishments that <br />can be achieved when citizens work with the City.
