RESOLUTION NO. 77-60 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />WELCOMING RELAMPAGO DEL CIELO COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />ADOPTED SANTA ANA WELCOMING <br /> RELAMPAGO DEL CIELO <br />INTO THE OFFICIAL FAMILY OF SANTA ANA was adopted unanimously <br />7:0 on the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman <br />Bricken. CA 1S1 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO~ ??-61 A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />GARDEN GROVE ~ATER DISTRICT CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />ADOPTED OF SANTA ANA STATING THE <br /> INTENTION OF SAID COUNCIL <br />TO NEGOTIATE FOR AND TO PURCHASE, SUBJECT TO SATISFACTORY TERMS <br />AND CONDITIONS, THOSE CERTAIN FACILITIES OF THE GARDEN GROVE <br />WATER SYSTEM LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND SERVING <br />CUSTOMERS IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA was adopted on a 6:1 vote, <br />with Councilman Bricken dissenting, on the motion of Council- <br />man Garthe, seconded by Councilman Ward. <br /> <br />Councilman Bricken stated for the record that in his opinion the <br />water surcharge imposed by the City of Garden Grove on Santa Ana <br />residents was not in fact based on the costs to the City of Garden <br />Grove of delivering the water; but that it was possibly designed <br />by Garden Grove to affect the outcome of negotiations between <br />the two cities concerning Garden Grove's proposal for deannexation <br />of Willowick by Santa Aha; and that the people who are required <br />to pay the surcharge are being unfairly used by the City of <br />Garden Grove. <br /> <br />Councilmen Ward and Yamamoto stated that they would support the <br />motion; but that they would look very carefully into the negotia- <br />tions concerning Willowick. CA 12 <br /> <br />Mayor Evans left the meeting at 2:58 P.M. to answer an emergency <br />telephone call; Vice Mayor Ward assumed the chairmanship of the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR WAIVER The request of Townsend <br />DEDICATION & STREET IMPROVEMENTS Textron for waiver of <br />HEARING SET dedication and street <br /> improvement requirements <br />of Municipal Code Section 33-4? in a letter dated May 13, 1977 <br />signed by E. B. Buster, was set for hearing on June 28, 1977, <br />on the unanimously approved 6:0 motion of Councilman Bricken, <br />seconded by Councilman Garthe. CA 29.4 <br /> <br />Mayor Evans returned to the meeting at 3:07 P.M. and resumed <br />the Chair. <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION On the motion of Councilman <br />STATION FOR LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS Garthe, seconded by Coun- <br />SUPPORT AUTHORIZED cilman Bricken, carried <br /> 7:0 unanimously, the <br />Mayor was authorized to write letters to appropriate legislators <br />in support of Senate Bill 1081 allowing the location of a re- <br />ceiving station for ~iquefied natural gas to be ready for use <br />by winter of 1980-81, and in opposition to Assembly Bill 220, <br />which would delay construction of a receiving station. <br /> <br />M. W.
