(Minutes page 179; <br />Agenda Item 47) <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT REORGANIZATION Fire Chief B. J. Thompson <br />ORAL REPORT BY FIRE CHIEF summarized his report to <br />B. J. THOMPSON Council dated June 1, <br /> 1977, and stated that <br />the Fire Department reorganization is in line with the recom- <br />mendations of the Fire Protection Master Plan Advisory Committee. <br />He also reported that the paramedic service contract with the <br />Santa Ana-Tustin Community Hospital is functioning very well. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward complimented the Chief on providing a reorganiza- <br />tion based on the need of the fire service rather than on the <br />reclassification of individuals and at no additional cost to the <br />City. CA 64 <br /> <br />COMPARISON OF CITY'S SELF- The report dated May 24, <br />INSURANCE PROGRAM VS. A COMPLETELY 1977, prepared by Robert <br />UNDERWRITTEN PROGRAM - FILED W. Lee comparing the <br /> City's self-insurance <br />program and a completely underwritten insurance program was <br />received and filed on the motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded <br />by Councilman Bricken and carried 7:0 unanimously. CA 88 <br /> <br />USE OF MAN-IN-WASHINGTON PROGRAM The City Council declined <br />BY OCSD - REFERRAL NO. 9-77 the request of the Orange <br />REQUEST DECLINED; REFERRAL DELETED County Sanitation District <br /> to authorize the assistance <br />of the Man-In-Washington to lobby for the District in the areas <br />of federal finan.cing and regulatory legislation concerning water <br />pollution control matters, on the unanimously approved 7:0 motion <br />of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Brandt. The motion <br />also approved Consortium policy to give individual consideration <br />to each such request based upon its own merit; and deleted Council <br />Referral Item No. 9-77 from the Summary.
