<br />E. The Police Chief at his discretion and based on the <br />department's need may assign sworn officers to standby <br />status for non-work days or other days as determined by <br />the Police Chief. Officers thus assigned will be <br />compensated at the rate of two (2) hours of straight <br />time per day of standby duty. Officers assigned to <br />standby status on non-work days will not lose their <br />standby pay when called to duty, if they have been on <br />call for at least six (6) hours when called. If <br />officers on standby status are called to duty after <br />having been on call for less than six (6) hours, they <br />will be paid for their response to work, but not for <br />their standby status. <br /> <br />F. An employee who is continuously and regularly assigned <br />as a Training Officer working in either Field <br />Operations or the Detention facility will be paid at a <br />rate set five (5) salary rate ranges (approximately <br />2.5%) above his or her then current base monthly salary <br />step. <br /> <br />G. An employee who is continuously and regularly assigned <br />to and actually performing duties of an Internal <br />Affairs Officer will be paid at a rate set five (5) <br />salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) above his or <br />her then current base monthly salary step. <br /> <br />H. Effective July 1, 2003, an employee who is continuously <br />and regularly assigned to perform training functions as <br />a Parking Control Officer will be paid at a rate set <br />five (5) salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) above <br />his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br /> <br />I. Effective November 1, 2004, an incumbent in the class <br />of Police Officer who is continuously and regularly <br />assigned as a Canine Officer will be paid at a rate set <br />ten (10) salary rate ranges (approximately 5%) above <br />his or her then current base monthly salary step. This <br />pay shall be considered compensation for the care and <br />feeding of the dog and will be in lieu of the thirty <br />(30) minutes of time each day currently provided for <br />such purpose. <br /> <br />J. Effective July 1, 2005, an incumbent in the class of <br />Police Officer who is continuously and regularly <br />assigned to and actually performing duties of a Motor <br />Officer assigned to the Traffic Division will be paid <br />at a rate set five (5) salary rate ranges <br />(approximately 2.5%) above his or her then current base <br />monthly salary step. <br /> <br />K. Effective July 1, 2005, an incumbent, identified by the <br />Police Department, who is continuously and regularly <br /> <br />17 <br />
