<br />11. 3 <br /> <br />11. 2 <br /> <br />sick leave in the above provisions may be <br />received in either a lump sum of money, or in <br />equal monthly payments for a period of up to five <br />(5) years. <br /> <br />6. A lump sum payment shall be made to the <br />beneficiaries of any eligible employee whose <br />death occurs while such employee is an active <br />employee of the City, such payment to be in the <br />amount of 1/3 of the total sick leave benefit <br />credited to the employee's account at the time of <br />his or her death, and at the rate of pay <br />effective on the date of death. <br /> <br />7. Upon the death of any retired employee receiving <br />a benefit under this provision said benefit will <br />continue to be provided on behalf of said retired <br />employee to his or her beneficiary. <br /> <br />Bereavement Leave. An employee shall be granted up to <br />three (3) days leave without loss of pay in case of <br />death of a member of the employee's immediate family. <br />For purposes of this Section only, a "day" shall be <br />defined as the number of hours of work that an employee <br />is required to work according to his/her specific <br />workday schedule. Such leave is designated as <br />bereavement leave. "Immediate family" as used in this <br />section is limited to: <br /> <br />A. Any relative by blood or marriage who is a member <br />of the employee's household; <br /> <br />B. A parent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, brother, <br />sister, grandparent or grandchild of the employee, <br />regardless of residence; <br /> <br />C. Any other relative of the employee by blood or <br />marriage where it can be established by the <br />employee that as a result of such relative's <br />death, the employee's presence is required. <br /> <br />Military Leave. <br /> <br />A. Proof of Orders and Reinstatements. An employee <br />shall be granted military leave if he or she <br />furnishes the Chief Personnel Officer satisfactory <br />proof of his or her orders to report for duty_ <br />Upon return and upon showing proof of actual <br />service pursuant to such orders, he or she will be <br />reinstated as provided in Section 9-143 of the <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Temporary. <br /> <br />Members of the reserve forces of the <br /> <br />47 <br />
