NO. 05-134) <br />cf°` <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Villa Ford based upon the City of San Diego <br />contract for the purchase of one hybrid utility vehicle in the amount <br />of $28,618.72 and amend the blanket contract in the amount of $10,000 <br />for a total not to exceed $20,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program <br />is included in the City's annual budget and identifies vehicles <br />scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency's Park Maintenance <br />Department use utility vehicles to transport staff and tools to local <br />parks to perform routine business. Due to age and condition, one 1995 <br />GMC Jimmy has been approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. <br />City Council adopted Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizing the City to <br />purchase against contracts with other public agencies utilizing a <br />competitive bid process. Villa Ford was awarded a contract as a result <br />of open, competitive bidding and meets the City's requirements. The <br />purchase conforms with the criteria established for the acquisition of <br />hybrid vehicles. <br />221-1 <br />
