This information shall not be reproduced or further disclosed, in whole or in part, to anyone <br />other than ORION employees without prior written consent from ORION Scientific Systems. <br /> <br />1. INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />1.1 PURPOSE <br /> <br />The purpose of this document is to provide the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD), herein after <br />referred to as the "Customer", a Statement of Work (SOW) for ORION Scientific Systems, herein after <br />referred to as the "Contractor", to provide develop a Case Management System (CMS) that will interface <br />with ORION's TaskForce@ Investigations application currently in use within SAPD. <br /> <br />1.2 DISCUSSION <br />The Customer has an immediate need for a CMS to be used within their new crime analysis unit. SAPD <br />is currently using ORION's Investigations application. They have a need to implement a case <br />management system which will allow investigators to write reports with via remote network data input, <br />analyze reports, and collate the information into prosecutorial cases. <br /> <br />The solution must fit SAPD's current network topology and direction. The solution will be designed <br />with Internet based technology requiring the user to only need Microsoft's Internet Explorer on their <br />workstation to access the system. <br /> <br />The effort will involve a partnership between ORION Scientific Systems and Santa Ana Police <br />Department. Both partners will provide development efforts. Tasks will be defined for each partner to <br />develop and to work closely together in a technology sharing environment. <br /> <br />1.3 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />ORION Scientific Systems is an international software consulting firm founded in 1978. It is a <br />multidisciplinary research, analysis, consulting, and software development firm that specializes in <br />solving complex, information processing based problems-particularly those encountered by decision- <br />makers, crisis managers, and those encountered by operations or intelligence activities.
