.

.

City of Santa Ana
Bill Review Service
Response to Selection Process Questionnaire - Phase II

TECHNICAL

1. Is your software custom or leased?

Our software is leased. We strongly believe this places us in a
position to seek out and utilize the most advanced and accurate
product that technology has developed. We are not locked into any
one application. As a consumer rather than an owner, we are able to
use this power to command service while maintaining flexibility. This
also enables us to maintain our focus as a specialist in meeting the
needs of the workers' compensation claims professional - not systems'
programming. As such, our clients gain the resources of a large
systems' operation, while maintaining the individualized attention from a
partner dedicated to your needs as a workers' compensation
administrator.

2. If leased, from whom?

LOM leases its software from HNC Insurance Solutions (formerly
CompReview) in Costa Mesa, California. This software is the most
widely utilized automated bill review software in California - over 50%
of all bills reviewed in the state are done so through the HNC
software. Last year HNC software repriced nearly 10 million bills 1.9
million in California alone. LOM has immediate access to their
expansive network of resources including information technologists, as
well as physicians and nurses.

. How long has the system been used?

The original version of the software was created approximately 15
years ago.

. How often are you provided upgrades/updates?

The system is routinely upgraded monthly to provide the latest in
PPO contracted rates. The system may be updated at any time
when changes to the laws governing coding are implemented.
