.

.

. If so. at what cost?

LaM does not charge for the cost of defending a bill review
reduction at the WCAB.

. Who provides the defense? Provide a sample scenario.

The parent division, Lien on Me, Inc.. provides this defense to LaM
Medical Bill Review. We are uniquely capable of providing an
expert defense to questionable medical billing practices. Should the
City of Santa Ana desire to take advantage of our Lien Division for
defending a contested review, we would request that the City make
available its claim file for our litigation preparation and service of
evidence on the moving or remaining parties. All policies and
procedures required by the WCAB are followed. Should either party
wish to appeal the WCJ's decision, Lien on Me, Inc. would continue
its representation until a final Order is issued. Should the City
desire further appeal (Appellate Level), the City would be required to
retain attorney representation, if the City were the party filing the
appeal.

7. How are billing batches treated?

All bills in a batch are identified with a batch number and counted
immediately upon its receipt. The batch is maintained as a unit until
all work is completed.

. Are they separated out among bill reviewers?

No. Because of the expertise of our bill analysts, each analyst is
fully capable of performing all aspects of the bill review process.
We believe that this guarantees the integrity, consistency and quality
of the review process.

. Are they treated as a single unit with one person?

The batch is always treated as a single unit. It remains with one
person until the coding process has been completed. At that time,
it is audited in a second review to ensure the original coding
accuracy.

. Are they separated out by billing type?

3
