<br />'-" <br /> <br />'WI <br /> <br />(f) Animals impounded by the City in connection with civil and/or criminal matters <br />and quarantines shall be maintained and disposed of as instructed by CITY <br />Animal Control personnel. <br />(g) Contractor shall provide a clean and secure area for the unloading and washing <br />out of City Animal Control trucks. <br />(h) CONTRACTOR shall build and maintain an animal interaction area for the <br />purpose of allowing those seeking to adopt animals an area to interact with <br />potential adoptees. <br />3. EUTHANIZATION AND DISPOSAL <br />(a) Prior to any euthanization CONTRACTOR will contact Animal Control <br />personnel to obtain approval for the procedure. <br />(b) CONTRACTOR shall provide a walk in freezer compartment of sufficient size <br />for the storage of deceased and euthanized animals. <br />(c) Euthanization shall not occur during weekend if adequate kennel space is <br />available. <br />(d) CONTRACTOR shall not sell or donate any animals to any individual or agency <br />for the purpose of research. <br />4. RELEASE AND ADOPTION <br />(a) CONTRACTOR shall release impounded dogs to CITY residents only upon proof <br />of rabies vaccination and valid CITY dog license. <br />(b) CONTRACTOR shall distribute marketing and educational materials provided by <br />CITY but shall not be responsible to provide additional marketing not already in <br />place. <br />(c) CONTRACTOR shall create and maintain a system or program to facilitate <br />rescue group adoptions and avoid euthanization. In addition, CONTRACTOR <br />shall cooperate with other public or private shelters to facilitate adoptions. CITY <br />shall have the right to monitor and approve any programs or systems and shall <br />have the right to approve or disapprove groups with which CONTRACTOR <br />coordinates adoption efforts. <br />(d) CONTRACTOR shall allow CITY employees to remove animals for placement at <br />other agencies to avoid euthanization. CITY personnel shall have access to the <br />shelter and all records at all times. CONTRACTOR agrees that CITY may place <br />personnel at the shelter at any hours CITY deems appropriate. <br />
