OCEANSIDE CIVIC CENTER PHASE 2: City of Oceanside, Californiz
This project included completion of the site design and the renovation
of an existing building built in 1945. This building was originally
designed as a library and added to in 1958, and again in 1971 to
accommodate council chambers and offices. We were commissioned to
redesign this amalgamation of cast concrete, wood studs and two types
of concrete masonry units to fit within the Architectural context of two
historical buildings. The project was completed on time and on budget.
Please Contact Marla Doyle, City Engineer, City of Oceanside,
CA, (619) 966-4420
FAIRMONT HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS: Anaheim, California
This project consisted of the conversion of a 22,000 square foot
office complex into a high school facility. This transformation
was required to be accomplished within a very aggressive time
schedule in order to meet the schools projected high school
enrollment. The project was finished on time and on budget.
FAIRMONT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAMPUS: Anaheim Hills,
California The Fairmont Vineyard project activates the front of
the school by creating safe vehicular and pedestrian circulation
zones. We added a vernacular school -front facade to mark a vivid
point of entry. We also designed a gated basketball court near the
front entrance to act as a protective after school play area. The
new design truly enhances the presence of the school by
harmonizing academic imagery, safety, and architecture. Our design
team also created an interior activity room to enhance school spirit
and to serve as an athletic venue for the students. This type of
space permits the children to activate the interior of the building. It is a multi -functioning room that can
transform from a basketball court into a rainy -day activity area. Additionally, we designed an auditorium area
with a raised platform for theatrical performances and school assemblies. The new auditorium will seat more
than 500 students. The openness of the auditorium space gives each viewer a vivid perspective of the events
being performed.
