COUNCIL RECESSED TO THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETING AT 8:02 P.M. FOLLOWED BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING COUNCIL RECONVENED AT 8:04 P.M. WITH ALL COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT COMMENTS 90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS Florence Leach invited the Council and residents to attend the Tri-City Veterans Memorial Day Program at the Santa Ana Cemetery on May 28, 2001. 90.13. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilmember Alvarez • Thanked Jim Gilliam for a tour of the Artists Village on May 5, 2001 • Congratulated the Santa Ana Arts program for the successful kick- off for the "Imagination Celebration" Expressed disappointment that seven Harry Potter books were distributed by the Library Commissioners to the Councilmembers with 75% of the pages in the books missing. She stated that it was not necessary to ruin the books in order to make the point that the Library was in serious need of additional resources • Asked the City Manager and the Council to address the Library needs in the upcoming budget discussions • Asked that City Hall change sources of energy by using generators during the summer months • Announced that the Technology Committee held its first meeting on May 2, 2001 and invited residents to visit the City's updated Web site and give feedback as to suggestions for further improvements • Wished Santa Ana residents a Happy Mother's Day Councilmember Christy • Announced that she had represented Santa Ana at the successful groundbreaking for the Multi -Cultural Center and the new Vietnam Memorial in Westminster • Asked that the City Council adjourn in the memory of Nora Mae Clark, a long time resident of Santa Ana.
