for Environmental Consultants
Firm and Personnel Experience
. Provision of senior management review of all work products to ensure technical accuracy,
documentation objectivity, legal defensibility, and budget and schedule compliance
. Full use of existing data, past reports, and research materials necessary to avoid duplication of
work efforts
However, the specific methodology for any project determines the overall efficiency of the program.
MBA outlines a project -specific methodology, further clarified by the scope of work, which provides for
document objectivity, expert -level technical analysis, team coordination, quality control, staff
accessibility, and schedule responsiveness.
Expert -Level Technical Analysis
MBA's project teams are intentionally composed of experts in key environmental fields to provide the
technical credibility necessary to successfully produce and/or review all technical reports and
finalize/process the required document. Professional -caliber technical analyses are essential to
ensure the document is deemed credible, objective, and technically precise in the eyes of the lead
agency and the public.
Of equal importance to the technical ability of all team members, every project participant has worked
on complex and controversial projects and, therefore, is willing and able to provide the commitment
necessary to produce the highest quality work product. Key strengths typically associated with an
MBA project team include:
. Previous working relationships among team members; current or recent experience working
with their clients
• Technical expertise in all issue areas that may need to be addressed, coupled with the ability
to identify project/cumulative impacts in light of CEQA/NEPA requirements, thresholds of
significance, and development of enforceable mitigation measures
• Ability to assign key management and senior staff immediately upon contract award and ability
to meet the client's schedule requirements
Information Services Management
MBA's technical and corporate operations are supported by fully automated data processing and
management facilities. Anchoring these facilities is an information systems network with advanced
architecture and functionality. MBA uses sophisticated applications, including database,
scientific/engineering, and air quality monitoring programs. These resources are further enhanced by
MBA's extensive library of business, relational database, file management, budgeting, project
tracking, and word processing software, including all current Windows, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD
applications. Maintaining in-house Geographic Information System (GIS) services allows MBA to
provide our clients with a cost-effective alternative to the costly delays inherent in out -sourced GIS
support.
Report Production and Graphics Capabilities
MBA's corporate report production facilities contain a Publications Department, including word
processing, editorial, graphics, and reprographics staff. MBA's production staff uses industry -
standard versions of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). The
Graphics Department is staffed with highly skilled graphic designers who produce computer -
generated cartography, artwork, and other graphics. Our graphic designers are able to generate
artwork in illustration, slides, and page layout using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Corel
Draw. To complement our high-tech electronic publishing system, the Graphics Department provides
traditional full -service production art capabilities for oversize maps, brochures, and landscape design,
as well as producing in-house, high -quality color printing. These facilities, computers, and capabilities
are used to produce all project graphics. MBA also maintains a complete, in-house Reprographics
