Located in the geographic center of Orange County, California, <br />the program interacts with numerous governmental, educational and community based <br />organizations to accomplish its goals. Taller San Jose views its role as a strong advocate for the <br />unseen and underserved youth in Orange County. Partnerships with local entities include: the <br />Orange County Probation Department, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the <br />Regional Occupation Program, the One -Stop Center, Santa Ana College, and the Santa Ana <br />Workforce Investment Board (WIB). SAWC has been a key partner for TSJ over the past <br />izations has included recruitment and referral of <br />several years. TSJ will continue to work <br />with SAWC as a center for recruitment of prospective students and a center for referrals to <br />employment for TSJ graduates. <br />Outreach/Recruitment/Eligibility: TSJ recruits out -of -school and unemployed young <br />adults (18-28) through the following avenues: <br />a. Community Outreach Coordinator — TSJ employs a full-time staff member to <br />recruit program participants <br />— b5% of current students were referred by a <br />b. Referrals from current TSJ students <br />friend or relative involved with TSJ <br />c. Referrals from community partners including: the Orange County Probation <br />Department, the Santa Ana WORK Center, Centennial Education Center, La <br />Familia, OCCC, and others. <br />5 <br />
