equipped tool belt to bring with them to their eventual job <br />site. <br />o Medical Careers- Taller San Jose's Medical Careers Academy <br />trains young people to work in broad areas of healthcare, <br />especially where office skills and customer service are <br />priorities and in situations where the ability to speak a second <br />language is required. Classes include basic computer as well <br />as additional training with Medisoft, a standard industry <br />software used in most private medical practices. Students <br />learn business office skills such as keyboarding, record - <br />keeping, telephone techniques and communication skills. <br />Program emphasis is on medical terminology, health <br />insurance, customer safety, computer skills, health safety and <br />professionalism. Graduates of the program will be ready for <br />employment in the following roles: Medical Front Office; <br />Unit Secretary; Admitting Clerk; Administrative Assistants in <br />clinics, ambulatory and acute care facilities; and, Certified <br />Application Assistant. <br />o Office Careers Academy - This program trains and certifies <br />students in Microsoft Office and Excel and prepares <br />graduates for employment as administrative assistants, <br />receptionists and data entry specialists in local companies. <br />Business Skills training is woven throughout the curriculum <br />and incorporates customer service, presenting Power Point <br />presentations, working with Outlook, writing business letters <br />and professional etiquette.
