grown/high demand industries, which may include STEM (science, technology, <br />engineering, mathematics) and green-collar careers (i.e. environmental engineer, solar <br />panel installer, science teacher, envirommental attorney, pollution control engineer, green <br />construction worker, etc.). Our staff will of..fer these opportunities to clients during the <br />goal planning process. For example, if a client is interested in the medical industry, <br />which is a high growth/high demand industry, we may refer them to American Career <br />College (ACC). ACC offers educational programs for those interested in the healthcare <br />field. ACC also works in partnership with. the Orangewood Children's Foundation as a <br />Guardian Scholar school., which provides scholarships aid on-campus support to foster <br />youth. OCF's partnerships with oilier agencies, educational institutions, employers, <br />internal programs, other Santa Ana WIB Youth Operators, and our youth are important <br />for participant success and we will leverage those resources to fulfill this objective. <br />4. Describe how training and services result in career paths that lead youth towards self- <br />sufficiency. Please provide Labor Market information if training is provided. <br />'I`he mission of the Orangewood Children's Foundation is to successfully transition foster <br />youth into independent adults, which is the reason why we highly value our partnership <br />with the Santa Ana WIB/Youth Council. FYLP staff will utilize resources such as the <br />California Employment Development Department (EDD) website to help clients find <br />career paths that lead to self-suftici.ency. The EDI:~ website is an exce lent source for <br />local Labor Market information and specifies occupation wages, demand, associated <br />industries, training programs, duties and responsibilities, necessary skills, etc. Through <br />the services in this proposal, our community partners like Job Corps, other Santa Ana <br />WIB Youth Operators, Santa Ana W/O/R/IC Center, and resources such as the F,DD, we <br />will. offer career paths and support that will lead clients toward. self=sufficiency. <br />E. Facilities <br />1. State location where program services will be delivered. <br />The Orangewood Children's Foundation (OCF) is located in Santa Ana at 1575 E. 1.7`h <br />Street. This location is easily accessible by bus as there are bus stops (eastbound and <br />westbound) directly in fiont of the facility. Additionally, our facility is centrally located <br />between. 22, 55 and 5 freeways. OCF is well known to our adolescent and young adult <br />population ages 16 - 21 as we conduct approximately 50 ILP workshops at this location <br />per year. We also have approximately 400-500 unduplicated visits to the ORC per year. <br />2. How will participant access site if not within City of Santa Ana boundaries? <br />Om• facility is located in Santa Ana, though sometimes our clients may not be able to get <br />to us. FortLmately, our Foster Youth Liaison Project peer mentors are accessible by <br />telephone, email and they may meet a client in the community field when necessary. <br />3. List hours of operation? <br />The Orangewood Children's Foundation hours of operation are Monday through Friday <br />from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Orangewood Resource Center (ORC) is open Monday <br />through 'l'hursday 9:OU a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Clients <br />who make an appointment with ORC staff or peer mentors may meet with them or utilize <br />the ORG after hours. <br />4. Is the facility compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA)? Base your <br />answer on completion of ADA/EEO Survey (see attachment F).
