• .Helped 8 foster youth enrolled in tlae program graduate from high school <br />• Held 5 workshops and 5 additional social activities/events <br />• Provided in-home tutoring for 7 youth <br />Transitions (ayes 1.6-25) <br />This program was created to provide youth, many already receiving some foi7n of <br />Orangewood services, with a mentor on an elective basis who will provide extra support <br />and advice about daily living, educational opportunities and career planning. <br />• Matched an additiona122 youth with mentors bringing the total to 45 youth. <br />• Held 4 social activities/events for mentees and mentors. <br />California Youth Connection <br />A statewide organization led by current and former foster youth between the ages of 14- <br />24 who participate in policy development and legislative change to improve the foster <br />care system. Orangewood funds Orange County's CYC chapter. <br />• "I'he chapter's 20 members held 12 Local meetings and attended 2 statewide events. <br />Time Out for Parents <br />Coordinates short term., temporary care for children in foster care so that their foster <br />parents caYn take a break and recharge the energy necessary to care for them. <br />• Received almost 1,700 requests for respite care, matching 90%> with respite <br />providers. <br />• Coordinated almost 60,000 hours of care for 328 children. <br />Orangewood Children's Home <br />'T'h.e Fow~datio:n. provides financial support, activities and mentoring for abused and <br />.neglected children placed at Orange County's emergency shelter. <br />• Provided $145,000 toward the construction of a nursery and the renovation of two <br />cottages and over $86,000 in other support and supplies. <br />• Held 24 special events and activities for the children through the PALS auxiliary. <br />Community Programs <br />An array of services, offered in partnership with Orange County Social Services Agency, <br />the Children & Families Commission of Orange County, foundations, hospitals & other <br />community-based orgaiuzations, for at-risk families and their children to prevent abuse <br />before it starts. <br />• Provided support services to more than 9,100 children aiid their families at 14 Family <br />Resource Centers through Families and Communities Together {FaCT) funding. <br />• :Provided n-ore than 3,800 young children with health. assessments and links to health <br />insurance, immunizations and primary care medical providers, through the <br />ProjectComiections.FRC Health Access program. <br />• Provided over 460 clients with 46 quality trainings anal over 370 hours of individual <br />and agency client assessment and. support through CONNECT, focusing on <br />strengthening organizational practices and individual leadership skills. <br />OCF/Foster Youth Liaison Project 12 <br />
