Orange County WDBs PY 2025-28 Unified Local Plan <br /> <br />26 | Page <br /> <br /> <br />Recognizing the increasing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in workforce development, <br />staff have also participated in AI training to improve their ability to use large language <br />model tools for administrative support, job seeker assistance, and personalized service <br />delivery. These AI tools help streamline resume writing, job matching, and interview <br />preparation, enhancing staff efficiency and participant outcomes. <br /> <br />Beyond their own skill development, staff are also trained to support job seekers in <br />improving their digital literacy and confidence with technology. As digital skills become <br />essential for employment, AJCC staff guide job seekers on navigating online job <br />applications, using video conferencing for virtual interviews, and leveraging digital tools <br />for career advancement. The WDBs continue assessing training needs and integrating <br />new digital learning strategies to ensure staff and job seekers can successfully adapt to <br />a technology-driven workforce. <br /> <br />B. Frontline Staff Training and Professional Development to Increase Cultural <br />Competency and Effectiveness in Working with Individuals and Groups that <br />Have Been Exposed to Trauma <br /> <br />Workforce programs support individuals from a wide range of cultural, socioeconomic, <br />and linguistic backgrounds, including immigrants, refugees, justice-involved individuals, <br />and those who have experienced trauma. The WDBs provide ongoing training in cultural <br />competency and trauma-informed care to foster a more inclusive and supportive service <br />environment. <br /> <br />The WDBs host dedicated training sessions and leverage partner-led training <br />opportunities to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to serve diverse populations <br />effectively. Cultural competency training focuses on recognizing implicit bias, <br />understanding the unique needs of multilingual and multicultural communities, and <br />ensuring workforce services are accessible and inclusive. <br />Trauma-informed care training helps staff recognize the impact of adverse experiences <br />on employment readiness, emphasizing de-escalation techniques, supportive <br />communication strategies, and approaches to fostering trust with job seekers who have <br />experienced trauma. Additionally, staff participate in motivational interviewing training to <br />enhance their ability to engage and empower individuals in overcoming employment <br />barriers. <br /> <br />The WDBs will continue to offer training in trauma-informed care, motivational <br />interviewing, and cultural competency to strengthen service delivery and ensure <br />workforce professionals are prepared to provide equitable and supportive assistance to <br />all job seekers. By maintaining these ongoing professional development efforts, the <br />WDBs create a workforce system that is responsive, inclusive, and equipped to meet the <br />evolving needs of the communities they serve. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />EXHIBIT 2
