Orange County WDBs PY 2025-28 Unified Local Plan <br /> <br />29 | Page <br /> <br />The AJCC system offers career services and training opportunities that meet the diverse <br />needs of job seekers in the region. Services are delivered through a hybrid model, <br />combining in-person assistance at AJCC locations, virtual career services, and mobile <br />workforce outreach to increase accessibility across Orange County. <br /> <br />Career Services <br /> <br />1. Basic Career Services: <br />• Job search assistance and access to labor market information. <br />• Initial assessments to evaluate skill levels, career interests, and barriers to <br />employment. <br />• Assistance with resume development, job applications, and interview <br />preparation. <br />• Information on eligibility and referrals to training and supportive services. <br /> <br />2. Individualized Career Services: <br />• Comprehensive skills assessments to determine career readiness. <br />• Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) developed with case managers to outline <br />career goals and training pathways. <br />• Career counseling and one-on-one support for employment navigation. <br />• Job placement assistance and direct referrals to hiring employers. <br /> <br />Training Services <br /> <br />To equip job seekers with in-demand skills, the WDBs offer various training programs <br />tailored to regional industry needs. These programs include: <br /> <br />• Occupational Skills Training through approved providers on the Eligible Training <br />Provider List (ETPL). <br />• On-the-Job Training (OJT), where participants gain hands-on experience with <br />employers while earning a wage. <br />• Apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships in construction, healthcare, advanced <br />manufacturing, and clean energy. <br />• Incumbent Worker Training to help current employees upskill for career <br />advancement. <br />• Short-term certification programs in fields such as information technology and <br />logistics, and other regional demand occupations. <br /> <br />Follow-Up Services <br /> <br />WDBs provide up to 12 months of follow-up services to support job retention and career <br />growth for WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker participants. Case managers maintain <br />regular contact to address challenges and provide: <br /> <br />• Career counseling and job retention support to help participants navigate <br />workplace expectations and advance in their careers. <br />EXHIBIT 2
