Additionally, specific groups in the city <br />face the unique housing challenges that impact access to opportunity, including: <br />• Seniors: <br />o Having limited and fixed incomes. <br />o Disproportionately higher healthcare costs, adding monthly living costs. <br />o Require customized housing features due to mobility and self-care limitations. <br />o Transit dependency. <br />o Limited in-home support, due to living alone. <br />• Individuals with physical and developmental disabilities: <br />o Need for specialized housing to accommodate disabilities. <br />o Higher incidence of dependent living needs. <br />o High incidence of unemployment and having fixed income. <br />o Need for supportive services. <br />• Large person households: <br />o Lack of affordable housing with sufficient bedroom counts. <br />o Options for larger bedroom counts in rental units . <br />o Higher monthly cost burden. <br />o Affordable options for large family households. <br />o Childcare needs for working families. <br />• Single parent households <br />o Affordable housing options. <br />o Rental and for sale housing options. <br />o Higher monthly cost burdens with single-income families. <br />o Childcare needs for working families. <br />• Farmworker households <br />o Affordable housing options. <br />o Higher incidents of cost burden for housing. <br />o Rental and for sale housing options. <br />• Extremely Low-Income households: <br />o Need for increased affordable housing options. <br />o Markedly higher incidents of cost burden for housing. <br />o Need for smaller housing unit options such as SRO’s. <br />o Rental assistance. <br />o Higher incidents of homelessness. <br />o Higher likelihood for transitional and supportive housing. <br />• Residents experiencing homelessness: <br />o Need for increased affordable housing options. <br />o Need for smaller housing unit options such as SRO’s. <br />o Rental assistance. <br />o Higher likelihood for transitional and supportive housing. <br />o Need for emergency shelters. <br />o Need for stable health care. <br />EXHIBIT 6
