Zuniga, Diana
From: Stephanie Martinez <
Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2025 2:59 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Virtual Public Comment for Santa Ana City Council Meeting on 06/17/2025
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana.Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Good evening Madame Mayor, City Council Members, and City Staff.
My name is Stephanie Martinez, and I was born and raised in the city of Santa Ana. Although I am no longer a resident
of Santa Ana and am now only a worker in the city of Santa Ana Ward 6, 1 continue to care and love for the residents and
community of Santa Ana.
I urge the City Council to consider the following:
1. Hold Mayor Valerie Amezcua accountable for her public statements and inaction against the criminalization of
peaceful protesters—many of whom are educated community members fighting for the safety and dignity of
our neighborhoods.
2. Demilitarize the Santa Ana Police Department.
3. Protect and support our protesters—not ICE.
Mayor Amezcua, as a third-generation Santa Ana resident,we expect you to understand your resident's struggle and
stand with them. Instead, your actions have shown otherwise. I ask you to remember your roots and the people who
believed in you—because they are the same people that you are harming today by your inaction.
Your actions as an elected officials are what matters the most at a moment like this. The livelihood and dignity of ALL
your residents is on the line.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you'll take this important step to protect the residents and community of Santa Ana.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Martinez
Worker of Santa Ana Ward 6
i
