Zuniga, Diana
From: Martha Espiritu <
Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2025 3:10 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Public comment for 6/17/25 meeting
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana.Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Mayor Amezcua,
I am very alarmed by what is happening in my beloved city
The presence of ICE, military vehicles, and an over-policed response to peaceful protestors has created a climate of fear
that is impossible to ignore. Families are anxious. Residents are afraid. And now, businesses in Downtown Santa Ana are
paying the price.
Shops are empty. Restaurants are struggling. The sense of safety and community that once defined our city is fading
fast, and under your watch.
Being a leader means standing with your people, especially when it's hard.
Right now, it feels like you've turned your back on us.
If you are unwilling to lead with courage and compassion, I respectfully ask for you to step down.
Thank you,
Martha Espiritu
Longtime Santa Ana resident
Sent from my iPhone
i
