EXHIBIT 3 <br /> IVCsuandUp <br /> For kids <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> DEFINITIONS <br /> • Work Experience(WEX): A structured and supervised learning experience that <br /> provides youth with opportunities to gain practical experience in a real work setting. It <br /> may be paid or unpaid, depending on the structure and agreement between the youth and <br /> the employer. <br /> • Paid Work Experience: A work experience where the youth participant is compensated <br /> for their time at the minimum wage or higher, depending on local labor laws and <br /> organizational policies. <br /> • Unpaid Work Experience: A work experience where the youth participant is not <br /> compensated but gains experience, skills, and job readiness. <br /> • Duration of Work Experience: The total time a youth participates in the work <br /> experience, typically ranging from 3 weeks to 6 months, depending on the program's <br /> goals, funding, and the nature of the work. <br /> ELIGIBILITY REQ UIREMENTS <br /> To be eligible for work experience under WIOA, youth participants must meet the following <br /> criteria: <br /> • Be enrolled in the WIOA Youth Program(Out-of-School or In-School Youth). <br /> • Be between the ages of 16 and 24. <br /> • Have an individual service strategy(ISS) that includes work experience as a component <br /> of their career development. <br /> • Have demonstrated the need for work experience as part of their program goals, including <br /> career exploration,job readiness, or skill development. <br />
