EXHIBIT 3 <br /> SCandU <br /> p <br /> For kids <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> WORK EXPERIENCE COMPONENTS <br /> Work experience should focus on skills development, career exploration, and improving the <br /> employability of youth. The work experience may include,but is not limited to: <br /> • Internships: Opportunities for youth to gain practical experience in a specific field or <br /> industry. <br /> • Job Shadowing: Short-term opportunities for youth to observe professionals in various <br /> careers. <br /> • Summer Employment: Temporary, often seasonal,work experiences that allow youth to <br /> earn wages while learning about the workforce. <br /> • On-the-Job Training(OJT): Structured work-based learning where youth can learn job- <br /> specific skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. <br /> • Pre-Apprenticeships: Structured programs that provide youth with foundational skills <br /> needed for entry into an apprenticeship program. <br /> • Community Service Projects: Service-based experiences where youth can contribute to <br /> their community while gaining valuable work-related skills. <br /> WORK EXPERIENCE STRUCTURE AND DUTIES <br /> • The work experience must be structured and provide participants with exposure to work <br /> tasks that help develop skills, foster professionalism, and create long-term career <br /> opportunities. <br /> • Employers will provide a detailed job description, tasks, and expectations for the work <br /> experience to ensure the youth participant gains meaningful experience. <br /> • Supervisors must mentor and guide the youth throughout the experience, ensuring they <br /> receive feedback on their performance and skill development. <br /> • Participants must maintain attendance and adhere to workplace policies. <br />
